NOTICE In response to questions about the new chalking policy , the university is providing the following information: Facility Planning and Management crews clean areas of campus, including sidewalks, on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The schedule varies by location and also may be dictated by factors such as weather, availability of resources, the volume of pedestrian traffic, events, and campus safety. At no time is the sidewalk cleaning schedule based on the content of chalked messages or the viewpoint of individuals or groups chalking on university sidewalks. The public areas of campus are also available to campus community members for other types of expression including presentations, demonstrations, dialogues, forums, speeches, and protests. ACCEPTABLE USE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY RESOURCES This update, effective February 17, 2020, clarifies section 4.5 Misuse of Electronic Communications of this policy. CHALKING ON CAMPUS Chalking on campus sidewalks is permitted subject to the specific restrictions detailed in this new policy , effective February 17, 2020. A campus map showing areas where chalking is prohibited can be found in the Resources section below the policy. INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL REGISTRATION New The new International Travel Registration policy defines types of ISU-sponsored international travel and requires centralized registration of international trips prior to departure. Central registration allows the university to coordinate resources to best support travelers, promote safety, and to comply with regulations. NEW AND UPDATED POLICIES With Workday comes the need to implement or revise several policies. Please familiarize yourself with these new and updated policies. STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT This proposal includes reformatting, revisions, and additions to prohibited conduct for purposes of clarity and improved reporting processes, inclusion of current practices not previously shared in the Student Code of Conduct , as well as appropriate referral to related university policies. Clarifications and revisions have also been made in the process and procedures to provide greater detail and to reduce procedural ambiguity.
